[LCGBBC] Upcoming Youth Tournaments - We need your help

Hello Everyone,
Our annual youth tournaments are approaching. The boys' is just 1 week
away - Jan 9&10. The girls' is 3 weeks away - Jan 23/24.
This is our 5th year of running youth tournaments for 5th and 6th grade
boys' and girls' teams. This year we have added 4th grade to both
tournament. The boys game schedule is on the club website:

We need your volunteer help to make the tournaments a success.
This is a long message, so here are the action items:
-Check with your daughter or son's coach to make sure you are signed up
to volunteer and make a concession donation
-We have about 60 people on the club email list, but please forward this
onto others so that we make sure everyone gets it
Last year, we raised over $9,000 at our January tournaments. This along
and the Spring 3x3 tournament are our only fundraising events - so its
important to make them as successful as possible. We count on the funds
to help support our youth and high school programs. Those of you that
attend our meetings or read our meeting minutes know that we invest
nearly all of these these funds each year back into the boys and girls
programs - both high school and youth programs.
We have a record 30 teams signed up for our boys' tournament. This is a
great opportunity to generate revenue and also to show many people what
a great basketball community we are. But is also means that our
volunteer needs are greater than in previous years. The girls weekend
will have only about 18 teams, so we need more help on the first
weekend.
Lori LeGrave is handling concession donations and purchasing, along with
concession volunteer scheduling. I'm handling score table volunteers
scheduling.
CONCESSION DONATIONS:

-Each high school and tournament team is filling out a concession
donation sheet at a team level. The team coach or a parent has been
assigned to coordinate this. Sheets should be returned to Lori
LeGrave by Tuesday Jan 6. Your donations should be dropped off at the
Primary School cafeteria on the Friday of the tournament weekend for
which you are donating. We'll also accept them on Saturday morning by
7:30 AM. Lori may also ask that some be taken to the Middle school on
the Jan 9, where the 4th grade boys are playing.
-Girls JV and FRESHMEN Parents - I'm responsible for the signup, so see
me at the West DePere game on Tuesday Jan 6 to signup
-If you have a child in the program and have not been contacted about
concession donations, or volunteering - please contact your coach. You
can also contact me by email or by phone: 569-5880.
VOLUNTEER SIGNUP

-Volunteer assignments are being done at a team level. Each travelling
team coach is selecting a timeslot for their team to work. They should
communicate that to everyone on the team. We will keep a master
schedule and will expect each team to make sure concessions and
admissions are staffed during their assigned time - and that they don't
leave until new volunteers arrive
-We are designating a site manager each day at each site. That will be
the goto person at that site if there are issues or questions.
-We would like most of the score table work done by the high school
players, so the signups are being handled by the high school coaches.
That schedule will be published to the website once the signup is
complete. Open spots will be filled in by parents during their assigned
volunteer times. The schedule will be published to the website and
teams will be responsible for filling in the open slots before or on the
day of their volunteer assignment. Site managers will make sure the
schedule is finalized on the day of the games.
REFEREES

Referee scheduling is complete. However, if you are a referee and have
not been signed up to ref - it would be helpful if you would bring your
referee gear along during your volunteeer time. If we do happen to
have no-show or injured ref, we could use a fill-in. This has not
happened in the past, but you never know. Also, please email me if you
can fill in if we are in a pinch.
As we finalize the scheduling, updates will be made to the club website.
